Day 3- The Hangover
Oh this is starting to get real..... This is what the Whole30 people call the hangover.... amplified by how much crappy food you ate prior to starting this..... so in my case that was LOTS. Headaches, lazy, just feeling blah.... it's not horrible yet which leads me to believe tomorrow will be way worse! I am really craving some banana bread and really anything non-Whole30 compliant I see.... My kids GF animal crackers look soooooooooooo appealing right now!!! I found a sugar free recipe that I am going to try.... I will be SWYPOing!!!!
I have been snacking way too much all day but I don't care right now. I am just trying to survive without a huge crash. I was talking with my husband just now and we are both missing our two plate meals from the resort.... awesome buffets at every meal lead to seconds and thirds! We are feeling it this week!
Wanna hear some thing crazy!? I am obsessed with the scale (part of the whole30 is NOT weighing/measuring yourself until the end so I LOCKED IT UP this morning... oops it's day 3!) well... the night we got back from our trip (dehydrated, retaining water, STUFFED from the week, and at the end of the day) I weight 176lbs..... CRAZY. This morning, so 3 days later I weigh 166. WHAT! A 10lb difference..... I know it is all water but still I can't wait to see my results at the end of this!!!
Another weird symptom in the beginning of Whole30's is food dreams! I had a dream last night that I ate a brownie..... I was at a table telling everyone about my new diet..... then a plate of brownies showed up and I ate one! I totally forgot I was not allowed too and was sooooooooo mad at everyone for not reminding/stopping me! I woke up with huge guilt.... :)
Breakfast: 2 cups coffee with coconut milk, more latkes (I made a huge batch!), left over roasted broccoli, eggs with kale and coconut oil..... only half though. My 2 almost 3 yr old said "I don't like yellow eggs.... only green eggs!" WINNING my little girl loves kale!!
Lunch: Big ass salad with lots of yummy toppings and lots of roasted chicken.
Dinner: Leftover Brazilian chicken and a huge side of sauteed baby bok choy (coconut oil, garlic, red peppers and mushrooms chopped up small and sliced baby bok choy). I LOVE this.... I know that is weird and I don't know why I love it so much but I do.... and I will be eating lots of this!
Snacks: Handful of cashews, hard boiled egg, some cherries- my cherry pitter makes it way to easy to eat lots of these!, 2 bowls of strawberries (they are SO good right now!) drizzled with coconut butter.... yummmm. My vanilla has alcohol AND sugar in it..... I was going to use it in the coconut butter if it just had alcohol but it has both so I had to say no :( Just some cinnamon. I didn't see the almond extract that would be freaking fantastic!!! And a cup of licorice root tea.

You're making me want cherries - AND a pitter! Did I ever tell you about my weird food dream on my first W30? I had been kidnapped and held for ransom. After 24 hours with no food, one of my captors decided I needed something to eat and gave me left-over take-out pizza. I stared at it for ages weighing the pros and cons of starving vs. breaking my W30. :)
Good job for getting Little Miss hooked on kale nice and early. :) My kids ate a totally Paleo supper tonight, followed by a giant bowl of berries, then *ahem* a little ice cream, after which they all insisted on eating an apple! I love seeing good eating habits picked up so young.
You are awesome!!
