Ok so I quit! I was Whole30 all day on Saturday, went to the party, showed no restraint, and enjoyed. My gut wasn't terribly happy with me but I think it has more to do with eating late and not a normal meal as this seems to be a frequent problem when we go out. And the following day we were invited to dinner at my in-laws. For pasta. I was prepared to bring my own spaghetti squash but didn't have any but I also have a rule to eat and enjoy when we are with friends/family (this is because I only have mild discomfort with some kinds of food, not enough to say a real intolerance/allergy). Well I was even more happy when we got there because homemade white bread was baking away in the bread maker.... Oh. My. And then they pulled out some red wine. Delish! We enjoyed.
I think that is what I ultimately came down to for me. I believe that food was meant to nourish, but it is also a gift meant to be enjoyed. It tastes good for a reason. Kinda like sex :) Yes it has a very functional purpose but it was also made to be delicious! For me eating such a restricted diet wasn't fun and in the end wasn't healthy for me. It was at first because it was a challenge and I was learning new things and trying new foods but then it just started to get annoying. And was really pissing me off! I just kept thinking "we weren't meant to eat this restrictive!?" This may sound silly but I kept reading this verse "Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the
whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be
yours for food." Genesis 1:29. Hmmm..... but then sin entered the world, and so did sickness, and disease, and genetically modified grains... :) But then I started thinking, maybe we should all be vegan?!?! ..... and then I remembered I am under Grace not law..... God does not demand me to eat this or that or do this or that for His love or for my salvation. It is by His grace.....
Food is all throughout the bible. It is important. God used wine and bread, loaves and fish, an piece of fruit that looked yummy, the dinner table throughout for very important events and miracles. It is important and like all things in my life, important to God. Corinthians 10:31, where it says, "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." I wasn't glorifying God. This was becoming my god. I had turned a little challenge into a form of idolatry. Obsessing over each meal, everything that went into my mouth, what I got to eat next, what it was doing to my body, not doing ot my body, why I wasn't allowed foods that I know make me feel great (smoothies, quinoa, my shakes).... then I started to feel spiritual tension which is always a red flag for me. It just wasn't working. It was no longer healthy. And I was really freaking out about the WholeThing. I am not sure why this was my experience but it was. I was putting way to much energy into this, thinking too much, and motivated by my glory. Not making my body better for His glory. I just needed to stop the obesession and get back to eating the real food I enjoyed. I really enjoyed this article and I think she expresses what I was going through way better.
As soon as I gave myself permission to stop. The tension lifted, I felt free agian and I was ok. And it took me 3 days until I baked. I thought I was going to dive face first into chocolate chips when this first started :)
So what did I learn? Lots. I am so glad I took this on even if I didn't finish. Pros for me doing this Whole13:
-I can survive without grains and especially the bad one
- I can now make all sorts of yummy veggies and know how to eat them at every meal
-I learned read labels. I couldn't believe the amount of crap in things I normally would have just bought and served to my family..... so I made my own stock, ketchup, salad dressing and still plan on making mayo one of these days!
-I CAN make much of the food we consume. It will take more time, energy but I can make many things from scratch. The results will be whole, real food, less to NO crap... loved this.
- I kicked sugar! But I am already slipping so I need to get back on track. I did stop craving it. That is huge for me!
-I made fat my friend. Good healthy fats are GOOD for you. Fat free Franken food is BAD for you. Cook with it and enjoy!
-I learned to say no. I don't need to eat every treat that is offered to me. I struggle with this. But not being allowed to eat any of it was nice to give myself permission to say no.
-how to eat real food and get away from all things processed- biggest take home message for me!!!
Obviously I struggle with food. So if you don't this all probably sounds very weird to you. I grew up in a home where it was common and encouraged to 'diet'. If you weren't, it was 'bad' to eat the foods we ate (which were infact not healthy at all!). It was normal to put down your body, publically call yourself fat, self hate, point out others who were fatter.... messed up I know, but it was only a few years ago I realized this wasn't normal. I am working against serious bondage and have seen huge amount of healing already in my life and in this area. Because of this I am so aware of what my daughter is picking up from me... we talk about eating healthy foods because it is good for our bodies and she works out with me or watches me most mornings because I am a 'strong mommy' and again we want to be healthy and so I can lift both her and her brother (combined 65 lbs!) up the stairs! I am currently at the lowest adult weight of my life. This is huge. But I have also always thought myself to be overweight. While I am so so SO happy with where I am at (you have to believe me, I am!) I still know that I can lose another 10lbs. Some people have made comments implying I am crazy but I know I still have more body fat that I don't need. I am grateful for my online support group of super fit mammas who encourage me and help me to get in the best possible shape (yes even after kids!). They get it, have seen my horrid before pics and encourage me to keep going. I am still trying to figure out how to eat healthy without restricting but without over indulging and using food for my comfort, reward, joy.... again idolatry! So I am trying to find balance between eating, enjoying, health..... I know the answer for me lies in WHOLE REAL foods. Eating food the way we were meant to- fresh, unprocessed, no chemicals (not meaning all organic.... not feasible for us right now), not out of a box, minimal to no refined sugar, no refined anything... But not freaking out if we enjoy occasional treats! I am loving this blog. This philosophy is awesome.
I am back to working out. Starting another round of Chalean Extreme mixed with some Insanity. I love exercising, love making it a priority. Love how it makes me feel strong and energized. Even my husband noticed how much better it was for me exercising and eating ok- not perfect compared- to the past 13 days. I can't wait to get back at it hard, eat real food and see what happens in the next couple of months.
Thanks for reading along with me. Sorry I was a bit of a freak show :)

Day 12- I think it's quitting time!?
Ok so I think I may be quitting this. I am really not enjoying this challenge.... I am ok with the the restrictions, kinda. In terms of having huge cravings and really just wanting a bowl of ice cream, I am totally fine. I am annoyed that it is Friday and we are about to watch a movie and I can't have a glass of wine, but not tormented by it. But this challenge/experiment whatever you want to call it has taken an unexpected spiritual and emotional turn. It has been weighing heavy on me I really just can't shake how against this diet/lifestyle, whatever, I have suddenly become. I really don't think we were meant to live/eat this way..... this restrictive, and it is really upsetting me. So continuing for the next 18 days seems a bit pointless to me. I also don't like how obsessed I am becoming with what I eat..... I was really freaking out this morning thinking about each meal, each snack I shouldn't be eating, putting down a piece of fruit and eating nuts or eggs because they said so (really..... I don't think that is good for the waist line....), I have also never been so bloated and gassy before in my life... TMI but for real, its gross. Energy is not soaring like promised (yes I know I was sick yesterday...) and I think I am starting to gain weight back.... I have more thoughts but I think I need to process a bit more before I share them.
So this is where I am at. I wanted to try this as an experiment and see how my body feels. I am surprised by how not good I feel and how emotional/spiritual this has become. I was not expecting that to be my struggle.... Tomorrow is my scheduled cheat meal at the staff "Christmas" party so I have a feeling I will just give up after that. But I will continue the reflecting and see what happens. Prayers and comments please??
Food: Same as everyday but I made a huge batch of coconut curry cabbage and had that at lunch and dinner as my veggie :) Yumm!

Day 11- It's not you... It's me....
I need to beg the forgiveness of the Whole30 peeps..... I woke up this morning VERY pissed. I worked out yesterday and it was HARD. Like very hard. Yes I took a break from working out but I felt utterly fatigued. And then this morning my muscles were even more weak, the muscles I worked really hurt and just felt like crap..... I am eating 100% paleo, zero sugar, zero refined crap, cleaner than ever- shouldn't I feel AMAZING!? Well..... I have the flu..... and my period came early! HA! Ok so maybe it's not the program after all...... I will keep with it and see what happens.
I had a busy busy day in the kitchen, made some more coconut chips, homemade ketchup and Whole30ied my favourite Shepherds Pie recipe with the help of the Well Fed cookbook. And I have been sipping nice warm mugs of bone broth trying to keep my energy up and this flu at bay. I really hope tonight to make some more banana bread because I am sick and want comfort food and Mike is out Thursday nights.... so it is my night to veg, eat and watch TV..... and I really want to do that tonight!
Breakfast: Eggs and kale, 1 roasted sweet potato, 1/3 a banana (Thank your for sharing Nate...) coffee and coconut milk
Lunch: chicken breast, salad, some leftover roasted broccoli, a pear, some coconut chips for a snack
Dinner: Shepherd pie- with a cauli/sweet potato topping, big heap of green beans with ghee
Snack: lots of water, 2 mugs bone broth, another coffee *hopefully banana bread!*

Day 10- wow!? Really?!
Day 10!? I can't believe that, I thought I was on day 8... yes the days matter THAT much!
I have been absent the last couple of days because Monday's are busy and I host a women's bible study in the evening and Tuesday I was thinking and eating and today I was thinking some more. I am tired and reeeeeeeeeeeeeally just want to go hang out on the couch with my husband so I will make my thoughts kinda quick....
I am struggling. Food wise I am doing ok. I am eating waaaay too much still. I have been silently reflecting and spending way too much time on the forums.... I am not very happy with the last two days.... I really just want to each chia seeds, green smoothies and my other healthy foods again. And I am not feeling that great (tummy issues).... I also have a general pissed-off-ed-ness to the program.... and I can't tell if it is the stage called 'kill all things' or if this just isn't for me..... I am becoming obsessed and very consumed. By the rules. I am ok with the no soy, dairy, sugar, legumes, grains, fun ect.... but I feel more obsessed than I ever did doing Weight Watchers. The only difference is how full my belly is. I am full and eating nourishing foods but my head is really struggling. I like rules, I am very much all or nothing, moderation is really hard for me. What has REALLY been stressing me out is this office party coming up this weekend. It is for my husband's work. It is a really nice night at a nice restaurant and all the staff and spouses come out. We look forward to this. I was stressed about being a dietary freak, insulting the gracious hosts by refusing most of the food and asking for special plates, not drinking (the last party I was nursing a newborn baby and was tipsy after one glass and the one before that I was pregnant)... not that I want to drink much but I want to enjoy myself :).... I have decided just to enjoy the night *gasp!!!!!!!!!!!* That breaks all the rules!!! But don't we all need a little bit of grace? I have no intentions of starting over, but I will carry on. And I feel very relieved with that. I still might make some changes, limit the amount of wine, maybe pass on dessert, not gorge on appies and maybe even ask not to have rice with my salmon but extra veggies.... We will see. Or I might eat. it. all. :) A friend shared this article, so instead of trying to be more articulate than her, I share her sentiments on her Whole30 experience... and know that I am eating a cocoa coconut chew lara bar as I type.... delish!
I am learning lots about myself and about food and eating waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more veggies than every before and still zero sugar so that is all very, very good.
Oh in OTHER news... I broke another rule and am down 4 lbs :)
Exercise: Chalean Extreme burn 1
Post-workout meal- 1 hard boiled egg
Breakfast: eggs and kale in coconut oil, beef sausage, coffee (mostly decaf) coconut milk
Snack: apple
Lunch: 1 small baked sweet potato (trying to get more carbs in), med. green salad with avocado, chicken thigh off a deli chicken
Dinner: leftover chicken cacciatore from Everyday Paleo Family cookbook- so good!, with a ton of roasted broccoli and steamed carrots with ghee. Strawberries with coconut butter for dessert
Snacks: TOO MANY. I gotta get this under control.... another egg, handful of cashews (even though I said I wasn't going to eat these today), celery with cashew butter (SO good), licorice tea, another coffee. 6-7 huge Nalgenes of water.

Day 6-7
I have been very sleepy this weekend. I seem to be right on schedule with everything so far! I was able to get a nap in yesterday but I had coffee late in the morning so just I just lay still in bed for an hour (very nice!). I did doze off a bit and was woken up by my daughter running into my room and shoving her sprinkle doughnut in my face proudly showing off what her and daddy did for their 'date'. That hurt a little bit..... :)
We had friends over for dinner which was great as it was a much overdue visit! I made spaghetti for everyone and I had spaghetti squash instead of pasta and no garlic bread. It was good! Until dessert.... I SWYPOed again. And made some "apple pie"- sauteed apples in coconut butter, 2 finely chopped dates, lots of Cinnamon, splash of coconut milk.... topped with some coconut better and those coconut chips from the other night! I could use my imagination and pretend it was apple crisp! It was good! But wasn't quiet what I wanted (store bought chocolate chip lava cakes like everyone else... I couldn't stand to make something and not eat it so Mike picked these up..... they looked sooooooooooo good!) but it his the spot for wanting dessert! So I survived my first social situation!
Went to bed early last night only got woken up twice by the kids and got to sleep until 7. *Yay!!*
Day 6:
Breakfast- scrambled eggs, leftover broccolette, coffee
Lunch- leftover coconut chicken tenders with lemon garlic veggies
Dinner- beef spaghetti sauce with squash and a green salad.
Snacks: handful of cashews, "apple pie", banana, random berries
Day 7:
Breakfast- scrambled eggs in coconut oil, strawberries and banana chopped and drizzled with warm coconut butter
Lunch- found some frozen butternut squash soup topped with avocado, whipped up some sauteed baby bok choy (and prepped some veggies for the week), and a hard boiled egg.
Dinner- either leftover spaghetti or chicken with baked butternut squash and frozen veggies.... I want to save my leftovers for tomorrow which is a busy day so we will see :)
Happy Sunday! Off to go rest some more with a good book.

Day 5... Still waiting
Day 5 is rumoured to be one of the worst days. Apparently I was supposed to want to punch people in the face. *Winning* I didn't!!! The last two times I gave up sugar I for sure wanted to punch people.... so I am surprised this didn't hit me hard. So I am still waiting for this to hurt. The next two days
I am supposed to be very sleepy which is timed
very nicely since it is the weekend. I am looking forward to a couple
of naps!
Back to today: I am still feeling good. A few cravings here and there. I am still eating way to much so that might be holding the crash at bay. The realisation that I still have 25 more days of this kinda hit me today... events where I will have to be a dietary freak are popping up.... I am getting anxious about this commitment!
I got my first workout in this morning in a long time. It was a quick 26 min cardio video done first thing this morning. It felt great but I was surprised how challenging it was for me being off for so long (a few weeks). I am stiff tonight and very glad I got it in.
Today wasn't a great food day. I am starting to feel very bad for my family. They are being troopers with my food experimentation and for the most part eating everything (breakfast and lunch with the kids is going great and they aren't following this Whole30 eating plan) but dinner has been flopping.... I have been enjoying them but not so much my husband (he loves his cheese and pasta!!). Today my veggie loving kids didn't like the lemon garlic veggies and my experiment with coconut 'breaded' chicken tenders was a bit of a fail.... I kinda enjoyed them but no one else really did, even though they could drown them with plum sauce! I am going to do more homework trying to find more 'comfort' like foods for them. Things like spaghetti, shepherds pie, stews and crock pot recipes not containing curry ( :( ).
Breakfast: Post workout- one hard boiled egg. Around 8am: Pan fried prosciutto... very good! Eggs with coconut oil and zucchini (don't ya just hate it when you are out of kale?!?!), fresh berries, 2 cups of coffee (1/2 decaf like always) and coconut milk
Lunch: Left over taco chicken and broccolette.
Dinner: A huge plate of lemon garlic veggies and coconut breaded chicken, cherries for dessert (they are all gone too :( )
Snacks: The last of the banana bread.... gone in two days.... bad bad Alexis...., handfuls of blueberries, grapes and strawberries. I made some coconut chips for TV on the couch night. I needed something salty and crunch in lieu of popcorn. Not as tasty as I hoped but hit the need to crunch on something, a big glass of Perrier on ice :)
Goals: More water. More veggies for snacks, less fat, smaller portions.

Day 4- Not so bad?!
I was really preparing for a horrible day. Day 4-5 are supposed to be brutal. But I really was fine today! I bit of a headache, still foggy, but generally good. It maaaaaaay have something to do with the fact that I ate nearly half a loaf of this AMAZING banana bread..... It was so good. Sugar free and Whole30 compliant except for my vanilla.... but back off Whole30 police I am not hunting down a alcohol/sugar free vanilla for the purpose of this..... It was delish. And I think totally helped with my cravings and potential crash that was coming. In general I ate way too much today. I am feeling good, contemplating working out tomorrow and starting to have a bit more control on portions now that I seem to be settling into this.
The hardest part of today was going to Costco. I am really surprised on how much produce I am actually eating. I have been to the store 3 times this week to buy more! So today I didn't mess around and went to Costco. Stocked up on bok choy, zucchini, bananas, broccolette, mushrooms, sweet potato.... got it all! So the hard part was all my favourite Costco treats I couldn't buy OR SAMPLE. The damn samples looked sooooooooooooo good. I didn't think about that when I planned my adventure! But I made it.
Breakfast- the last of the latkes.... :(.... eggs, kale and coconut oil. 2 cups coffee and coconut milk
A TON of that banana bread during a play date
Lunch- big ass salad, random fruit
Dinner- Taco chicken drumsticks (SO so good. Definitely a make again!) guacamole, steamed carrots and broccolette with OO, garlic and mushrooms. Cherries for dessert.
Snacks- more bread, kale chips, strawberries and coconut butter, tea

Day 3- The Hangover
Oh this is starting to get real..... This is what the Whole30 people call the hangover.... amplified by how much crappy food you ate prior to starting this..... so in my case that was LOTS. Headaches, lazy, just feeling blah.... it's not horrible yet which leads me to believe tomorrow will be way worse! I am really craving some banana bread and really anything non-Whole30 compliant I see.... My kids GF animal crackers look soooooooooooo appealing right now!!! I found a sugar free recipe that I am going to try.... I will be SWYPOing!!!!
I have been snacking way too much all day but I don't care right now. I am just trying to survive without a huge crash. I was talking with my husband just now and we are both missing our two plate meals from the resort.... awesome buffets at every meal lead to seconds and thirds! We are feeling it this week!
Wanna hear some thing crazy!? I am obsessed with the scale (part of the whole30 is NOT weighing/measuring yourself until the end so I LOCKED IT UP this morning... oops it's day 3!) well... the night we got back from our trip (dehydrated, retaining water, STUFFED from the week, and at the end of the day) I weight 176lbs..... CRAZY. This morning, so 3 days later I weigh 166. WHAT! A 10lb difference..... I know it is all water but still I can't wait to see my results at the end of this!!!
Another weird symptom in the beginning of Whole30's is food dreams! I had a dream last night that I ate a brownie..... I was at a table telling everyone about my new diet..... then a plate of brownies showed up and I ate one! I totally forgot I was not allowed too and was sooooooooo mad at everyone for not reminding/stopping me! I woke up with huge guilt.... :)
Breakfast: 2 cups coffee with coconut milk, more latkes (I made a huge batch!), left over roasted broccoli, eggs with kale and coconut oil..... only half though. My 2 almost 3 yr old said "I don't like yellow eggs.... only green eggs!" WINNING my little girl loves kale!!
Lunch: Big ass salad with lots of yummy toppings and lots of roasted chicken.
Dinner: Leftover Brazilian chicken and a huge side of sauteed baby bok choy (coconut oil, garlic, red peppers and mushrooms chopped up small and sliced baby bok choy). I LOVE this.... I know that is weird and I don't know why I love it so much but I do.... and I will be eating lots of this!
Snacks: Handful of cashews, hard boiled egg, some cherries- my cherry pitter makes it way to easy to eat lots of these!, 2 bowls of strawberries (they are SO good right now!) drizzled with coconut butter.... yummmm. My vanilla has alcohol AND sugar in it..... I was going to use it in the coconut butter if it just had alcohol but it has both so I had to say no :( Just some cinnamon. I didn't see the almond extract that would be freaking fantastic!!! And a cup of licorice root tea.

Day 2- Not a normal day
Today has been a weird day. My community is suffering form a local tragedy involving a murder/suicide of a mom and her two kids. MANY of my close friends are directly affected by this (kids in school with them, play dates ect...) it is horrific. So that has been weighing on much of my heart this morning.
I have also been eating very weirdly.... I think it is emotional plus just having a busy morning and still not quite on my feet after our vacation. I am posting this again before the day is done because I am heading out to a photography course this evening :)
Breakfast: way to many of those latkes, eggs scrambled in coconut oil and sauteed kale. 2 cups of coffee with coconut milk *all my coffee is brewed 1/2 decaf 1/2 reg, or 3/4 reg depending on the night*
Lunch: Weird.... leftover taco meat (less than a cup) with the leftover guacamole (1Tbls).... a few olives.... I got back late from a play date so was starving and just focused on feeding the kids and ate standing up *bad I know*. I didn't drink any water until after I ate.... and hour later I was still hungry so I had some leftover bone broth from what I put in the slow cooker for dinner, (BTW.... there is SUGAR in store bought chicken stock!!!! Good think I am sometimes a hippy and I had frozen bone broth that I used instead) and two eggs. OH and I made a batch of roasted broccoli..... very weird lunch and I need to plan MUCH better. I was just sick of salads from yesterday so this is what happened!
Oh and for the taco seasoning I loosly used this recipe. One more packaged food item I can get rid of because I can make at home!
Dinner: Brazillian curry chicken with some roasted broccoli or maybe sauteed bok choy if I am able to make it out to the store, I already need more veggies :)
Snacks: apple, few grapes, afternoon coffee with coconut milk. 5 Nalgenes of water *didn't make it to my goal of 6 again!*

Whole30 Day 1- GO!
Well the day is here... the begining of my Whole30 journey! I am so ready and wanting to start this. After a week long vacation in Jamaica I am very full, feeling crappy and ready to start eating healthy again. Our trip was awesome! So much fun in the sun, ate amazing food, drank yummy drinks by the ocean all day, stood beside my SIL for her beautiful beach wedding.... it was great.
I have been working myself up to starting this challenge for quite a while now. First my dear friend did this about a year ago. I thought she was crazy. Extreme. I could never give up sugar, dairy and of all things bread!? Well over the past year that is exactly what I have been doing and my body has thanked me because of it. And I saw her change her body, her life, achieve fitness and health goals, plus she looks absolutely amazing. It has been so inspirational for me.....
...So here I am starting my Whole30 and I am going to blog about it to share with you what I am eating, how I am feeling and what results I see at the end of it. Wish me luck!
The stats:
Weight- 173lbs.... up 4 lbs from my vacation :)
Waist- 38.5 inches
Hips- 41.5 inches
Energy- lacking, but I generally feel much better now. The kids are sleeping for the most part so I am feeling much better than I was about 5 months ago.
Brain fog- THICK. I think it is all the crap and sugar I ate last week.... but I really have a thick cloud over my brain right now. It feels like I need more coffee but I think I need less sugar. Looking forward to this lifting soon!
Day one:
Didn't get off to the best start. We had no food and got home later than expected last night so I couldn't do groceries until after breakfast. So I had no protein to eat, no fresh fruit and no coconut milk for my much anticipated coffee! The almond milk was drinkable but not very enjoyable. We went to a natural, local, organic farm this morning. So fun. We got some grassfed beef, free- range eggs and had a great talk with the farmer. It was a bit too expensive for my liking but I loved them and the quality of meat... I may still shop around but it was a good start. BUT I did CHEAT on my first day...... they offered a sample of thier fresh, raw, homemade cheese...... I did try a bite. It was glorious. I wont be cheating again.
Breakfast: Too many sweet potato latkes, with coffee and almond milk. I really missed my eggs. We were running around all morning so I shoved a couple handfuls of cashews in me. 2 litres of water..... I am really trying to flush Jamaica out of me!
Lunch: Big-Ass Salad with chicken, avocado, pickled veggies and Whole30 approved Itallian dressing form Farm Boy. Yum! More water. *I have been challenged to drink SIX of my huge Nalgenes... 192 ounces! I am 3 bottles in..... gotta pee....
I am posting the rest of what I *plan* to eat..... we are busy unpacking/laundry/cleaning/napping and I have my first small group meet at my house tonight..... so I am posting this early.
Dinner: Taco Salad.... my packaged taco seasoning has some weird corn ingridient so I am making my own..... I hope it turns out! I plan to eat mine with avocado, tomato, lettuce and lots of grass fed meat.
Snacks: More coffee with coconut milk, strawberries and banana, almonds....

Resolutions
I have never officially made resolutions before. I think it is because I ultimately know I wouldn't keep them or I thought pretty highly of myself.... ;) But I am putting it out there and will refer back to this over the next year.
So here is my list of New Year's resolutions:
1. Get my quiet time back. I used to get up in the morning to read my bible.... EARLY because my kids are such early risers. I lost that time with a baby who didn't sleep well and a toddler who thinks 6am is a great time to start every. day. With both sleeping better, I have recently replaced that time with my morning workouts. It is the only time of day that I can get a good uninterrupted workout in. But I have failed to get my quiet time in else where.... I really miss talking to God every day and reading my bible. I really fall apart when I neglect this area.
2. Start and finish a Whole30. To learn to have a healthy relationship with food. One where it fuels my body, makes me feel great, not deprived and where I can learn to enjoy treats on occasion as that- treats, and learn which foods make me feel like crap, I am starting to realize many do!
3. Continue making my body stronger. I have worked so hard this past year and I want to keep going with this.
4. Spend less time on Facebook. It can be days before I have a meaningful face to face talk with another adult (excluding my husband) so Facebook has become my main social outlet.... sad I know but true. This will help with #1, and 6 and really everything!
5. Respect my husband. Always. He is an amazing husband and father and works so hard for us.... Respect is huge for men and I want him to know how much he means to me. This is a big one for me.
6. Be more intentional with my kids. I spend all day, everyday with them. But am I really pouring into them, earning their hearts, teaching them about Jesus, showing them His love? I really can grow in this area. Mostly this mean getting on the floor more with them to play :)
7. Be a humble servant to the women in my small group. I feel veryinadequate to lead a group, especially to these amazing women. But God leading, our group is growing and we have an awesome study lined up.
8. Prayerfully wait on the decision to return to work to some capacity. I miss nursing but love being at home.... I am seeking God's will here and seeing if he opens any doors or if I need to be content and complete staying at home caring for my family.
9. Blog more, scrap book more, read more.....
A long list I know..... I am not aiming to be perfect in any of these but just to continue growing and be more intentional about growing.
Hold me accountable!
